Dr. Angeline Woodson, PhD, LCMHC-S, NCC, Licensed Professional Counselor

Dr. Angeline Woodson is a Licensed Professional Counselor specializing in individual, couples and family therapy. Dr. Woodson has over 20 years experience as a mental health therapist specializing in diversity and multicultural counseling. She is currently serving as a private practitioner working with a broad spectrum of clients. She has vast experience in working with clients of all ages and backgrounds.

My Story

Dr. Woodson has provided in-home and office based counseling. She has aided clients in addressing issues with addictions, adult survivors of dysfunction, grief and bereavement issues, parenting issues, self esteem issues, transitional issues, depression, post-traumatic stress disorder, couples issues and domestic violence. Using a number of evidence-based theories including motivational interviewing, dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), solution-focused, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), and a variety of play therapies, Dr. Woodson helps her clients take positive steps towards achieving their goals. Dr. Woodson is a Navy veteran as well as the spouse of a retired Marine. She has a host of experience working with military personnel and their families. Dr. Woodson is also the proud mother of three children.

Dr. Woodson is an interactive, solution-focused therapist. Her therapeutic approach is to provide support and practical feedback to help clients effectively address personal life challenges. She integrates complementary methodologies and techniques to offer a highly personalized approach tailored to each client. With compassion and understanding, she works with each individual to help them build on their strengths and attain the personal growth they are committed to accomplishing.

Dr. Woodson has presented at national conferences and to general audiences speaking on the topics of Infant/Toddler Mental Health, Children of LGBT Parents, Socio-Emotional Development of Children and Holistic Approach to Child Care. In addition to therapy, Dr. Woodson has instructed as a college professor in the area of Early Childhood Education. She has taught at Central Texas College, University of Maryland, Central Carolina Community College, Mount Olive College and University of Phoenix.
